This type of artwork can take hundreds of hours to complete depending on the size, style and type of paint used e.g. acrylic, traditional oil, and custom blended pigments using a glazing style as a signature method. The prices per size and piece can be found under “pricing.” For photorealism and very intricate pieces, in the clothing worn i.e. very tiny lace or beaded tops a price adjustment may be required. It is up to the client what he or she would like in the portrait. Some as an example wish to have a very detailed painting. Some like the more modern style as well as impressionism and some will choose a photorealism. No matter what you like, I can do it for you. It should be noted some pieces of art work will take 500 plus hours to complete. However once completed you will have many years of enjoyment with the finished piece as well it will last centuries to come.

I started painting Photo-realism, also called Super-realism, in the late 60’s. I would take a photo and at the time try and draw to detail everything in the photograph.

These ultimately turned into highly illusionistic images that referred not to nature but to the reproduced image. Over time, I started working in acrylic paints to accomplish the very same thing. Like the Pop Art and Minimalism movements in the 60’s and 70’s, I was most interested in breaking down the hierarchies of any subject matter I chose to paint.

Please note: Normally I am booked months in advance for portraits and still life paintings.
